Stay Healthy This Fall: Free Flu Vaccines and Counseling Groups

A message from: Tracy Robin, Associate Provost for Student Health Services

Dear Students,

As we pass the equinox and move further into fall, we want to remind you of two important ways to prioritize your well-being this semester:

Get a Free Flu Vaccine!

Protect yourself and others by signing up for a free flu vaccine appointment provided by Student Health Services (SHS). Bring a friend and turn it into a wellness-focused study break! You can schedule an appointment through the SHS portal.

The free flu vaccine clinic is located at 80 Fifth Avenue, 3rd Floor, and will be open from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on these dates:

  • October 8th, 11th, 16th, 25th
  • November 6th, 8th, 19th
  • December 6th
  • January 28th

Now is also the time to get an updated Covid vaccine. Please go to vaccines.gov to schedule an appointment at a local pharmacy.

Join a Counseling Group for Mental Health Support and Community!

SHS offers a range of free mental health counseling groups for students starting the week of September 30th. These groups meet weekly and provide a supportive space to address various topics, including family dynamics, grief, mindfulness, and support for international students. Here is a partial list of some of the groups available:

  • Family Challenge and Self-Discovery (Mondays, 1:00 p.m.)
  • International Student Support Group (Tuesdays, 1:00 p.m.)
  • Eating and the Body (Wednesdays, 1:00 p.m.)
  • Good Grief (Thursdays, 11:00 a.m.)

For a full list of groups and short-term workshops offered this semester, please see this flier. To sign up for one of the groups, please use this registration form.

‌We invite you to make the most of these opportunities to stay well in the coming months! If you have any questions, please email shs@newschool.edu
