Confidential Sexual Misconduct Campus Climate Survey
A message from: Dr. Shondrika Merritt, Associate Provost of Student Affairs, Dean of Students
Dear Students,
We invite you to participate in The New School’s confidential Sexual Misconduct Campus Climate Survey. The purpose of this biennial survey is to help the university understand the attitudes and experiences of our students, as well as your knowledge of the university’s Policy on Harassment, Discrimination, Prohibited Relationships, and Title IX and Non-Title IX Sexual Harassment and Misconduct.
The Sexual Misconduct Climate Survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and is optional and confidential. Within the survey, you will be asked questions in the following areas:
- Role of the Title IX Coordinator and Title IX Investigator
- Student experiences with sexual violence
- Campus policies and procedures addressing sexual violence
- How and where to report incidents of sexual violence
- Availability of resources on and off-campus
- Bystander behavior and resources
We recognize that the survey addresses difficult topics, such as sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, physical violence, and identity-based discrimination and harassment, that may be triggering to some. Please know that this is an optional survey, and the well being of our students is our primary concern. Our Student Health Services team is available to assist if you need support or resources. To schedule an appointment with a counselor, visit shsportal.newschool.edu.
At The New School, we take sexual violence prevention, education, and support seriously and are grateful to our students for giving their voice and time to this important work. In appreciation of your participation, there will be a random raffle drawing for one of the following (your anonymity will be protected).
- 7-day MetroCard
- A pair of AMC movie tickets
- $30 Amazon Gift Cards
We hope you will take this opportunity to share your voice and help shape education, awareness efforts, and support services on campus. The survey will be open until December 23, 2024.
If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the Office of Student Equity, Accessibility and Title IX Services.
