Meet the New Faculty in Residence!
A message from: Dr. Shondrika Merritt, Associate Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students & Todd Pettiford, Assistant Provost for Student Affairs, Assistant Dean of Students
Dear New School Community,
The Faculty in Residence (FIR) program is bringing three New School faculty members directly into the heart of our residential community. As live-in faculty, they will serve as mentors, teachers, and active neighbors for students, collaborating with Residential Education staff to create supportive living environments that foster learning, connection, and growth. These three-year appointments demonstrate our investment in supporting the social, academic, and personal development of our students.
We encourage you to collaborate with the FIRs to expand your reach into residential life. From hosting discussions and guest speakers to leading excursions, service projects, and special events, the FIRs are here to enrich students’ campus experience both inside and outside the classroom.
