TCDS Fellows Roundtable Discussion – April 17 at 6:30 pm

Transregional Center for Democratic Studies (TCDS) would like to invite you to a special evening with TCDS visiting scholars


Four TCDS visiting scholars hosted by The New School for Social Research and a PhD candidate from NSSR’s Politics Department will gather together for a roundtable discussion to talk about their current research projects and to introduce the countries they come from. The roundtable discussants are:

Arslan Ivashov, Kazakhstan – OSI scholar, Senior Lecturer at Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, International Relations Department, current research focus: education reform in Kazakhstan

Ermira Danaj, Albania – Fulbright scholar, PhD candidate at the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland; Doctoral Thesis: “Migration in Albania and its effects on gender relations”

Maia Araviashvili, Georgia – OSI scholar, PHD Student at Ilia Tbilisi State University, Sociology

Monika Żychlińska, Poland – Kosciuzsko Foundation scholar, PhD candidate at the University of Warsaw, PhD dissertation topic: “Facing the Stigma. The Politics of Identity of the Vietnam Women Veterans Organizations”

Solongo Wandan, Germany/Mongolia – PhD candidate, Politics Department, NSSR; research interests- comparative democratization processes, theoretical and empirical approaches in the study of constitutionalism, modern democratic theories, and the history and development of human and constitutional rights; Dissertation title: “Constitution Making as Representative Politics: Agenda-Setting and Citizen-Drafter Linkages in the Polish and South African Constitution Making Processes”
