VIDEO: Bullet and the Ballot Box
On October 9, 2014, TCDS partnered with NSSR’s India-China Institute to host Bullet and the Ballot Box. First in the series of TCDS events marking the 25th anniversary of the dismantling of the Communist system in Eastern and Central Europe, the discussion focused on on how Nepal’s Maoists reinterpreted Maoism and successfully translated it into political action at a time when liberal democracy dominated public discourse and communism had lost legitimacy.
