PopTech 2012 LIVER2

This year, MFA Design for Social Innovation and PopTech have teamed up to enable those who couldn’t make it to Camden to watch the presentations live in the DSI Theater. The PopTech Livestream is more than a live feed – it’s an opportunity for anyone to learn from world-changing innovators and Fellows who take the PopTech stage and to discuss with each other.
Join us on Thursday, October 18 from 9:00am until 5:00pm to watch in real-time as exceptional innovators and changemakers take the stage to share fresh perspectives that are likely to change the way you look at yourself, your work and the world.

This year’s theme, resilience, will raise questions about:
How do we become more resilient as individuals?
How do we become a more resilient nation?
What makes on institution capable of handling disruption while others collapse in the face of crisis?

Presenters will explore resilience in its many forms and examine implications for trends in systems, enterprises, economics, politics, individuals, ecology, and much more. You’ll hear from an epidemiologist who studies how traumatic events alter population health, a former bank-thief-turned-neuroscientist who has shown how to project patients’ thoughts onto a screen in front of their eyes by implanting electrodes deep inside their brains, and an ecologist who combines biomechanics and paleontology to bolster coral reef survival. PopTech’s Social Innovation Fellows and Science Fellows will give a glimpse into “what’s next” in areas like mobile technology for social good, internet privacy, healthcare, disease transmission and climate change.

We Hope You Can Join Us!
