Click here to RSVP.Dr. Omowale Satterwhite is an acclaimed community-building specialist with more than 25 years of experience providing technical support and building capacity for social change in communities of color and other underserved communities. He founded the National Community Development Institute in Oakland, California and is now President of Leadership Incorporated in East Palo Alto, CA. He has provided technical assistance to more than 1,200 organizations in 43 states during his career. Omowale’s previous experience includes serving as President of the Institute for the Study of Community Economic Development and President of the Community Development Institute, which he founded in 1979. He also served as Board Chair of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management.
Omowale has a Ph.D. from Stanford University, an MA from Southern Illinois University and a BA from Howard University. He has also received numerous awards for his professional and public service, including a Kellogg Foundation National Fellowship and community service awards from the National Council of Negro Women, (Golden Gate Section), Peninsula Community Foundation and KQED Television.
