ie Mahler is a social entrepreneur and innovation strategist currently running a research and design practice focused on human connection called Community by Design. Through this work she’s collaborated with the City of New York, the United Nations, New York Tech Alliance, Venture for America, and many more socially-driven organizations and universities. Prior to starting her own practice, she was the Experience Lead at the design & innovation firm, IDEO, where she partnered with teams to design experiences for clients like Amex, Delta, Citibank, and Intercorp. She has an extensive background in non-profits and social enterprises as a part of the founding teams of the Centre for Social Innovation NYC and Be Social Change – two organizations that collectively serve over 15,000 individuals and hundreds of social impact organizations. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Parsons School of Design in the School for Design Strategies and at NYU’s School of Professional Studies.
