Lindsay Clinton
Lindsay is inclusive business expert with more than a decade of international experience in advisory, research, forecasting, and start-up roles. She believes in the power of business and markets to create social impact. In her current role at the NYC Department of Education, Lindsay oversees the Smart and Sustainable Cities portfolio, which includes post-Sandy resiliency efforts, urban tech, and industrial manufacturing. Previously, as Director of Intellecap US, she developed strategy and thought leadership for the company domestically. From 2008-2011, she served as Research Lead at Intellecap, in Mumbai, where she founded and edited publications on social entrepreneurship and microfinance. Before rejoining Intellecap, Lindsay spent five years at the think tank and advisory firm, SustainAbility, where she ran the New York office. Her portfolio included finance, technology, pharmaceutical and food companies across a range of assignments including business model innovation, SDG strategy development, social impact bond development, and stakeholder facilitation. Clients included Barclays, BMW, Keurig Green Mountain, Nestlé, and UBS. At SustainAbility, she launched a business model innovation service offering and a research vertical called Model Behavior. The research has been featured in the US, UK, India and China and is now part of several business school curricula. Lindsay is a frequent speaker on business innovation and social enterprise, teaches a graduate course at Parsons on sustainable business models, and has three kids under five.
