Ellen Fish
Ellen is the Founder and Executive Director of Friends of Tilonia, Inc., which takes its name from Tilonia, a small village in Rajasthan, India that is home of the Barefoot College. In collaboration with a Tilonia-based team, Ellen developed www.tilonia.com to sell handcrafted home textiles, decor, and accessories produced by artisans in rural India. Working with more than a dozen artisan enterprises in rural India, Mexico, and Cambodia, she now develops distribution channels and generates U.S. sales to create employment and economic opportunities. She presents artisan collections via www.sproutenterprise.net, as well as through market representation at trade shows. Ellen has over 25 years experience in developing new business lines in financial information services. As senior director of product development at Standard & Poors, she managed web-based product launches generating over $22 million annually in new business revenue. Previously, she held a number of product and business development roles, growing annual revenues over $15 million for new web-based services delivered to major financial firms. Ellen has mentored numerous social enterprise start-ups and is a graduate of NYU Stern and the University of Minnesota. She specializes in product development, business process change, project management, marketing, social enterprise, business start-up and impact investing.
