Elizabeth Alvarez
Public and Urban Policy (MS), Schools of Public Engagement
Before joining The New School, Elizabeth worked in tech and public relations, specializing in media relations, brand marketing and client management. Elizabeth is passionate about housing and community development within systemically marginalized groups including immigrants and low-income residents. Her desire to work with these groups is rooted in her first-generation upbringing in the South Bronx, where her family lives and works. Â She’s interested in leveraging community-centered approaches to economic development as a tool for creating civic engagement in public and private spaces.
