Coming from Lawrence, Massachusetts, a low-income community, I always made sure to appreciate my education, especially as a Latinx, first generation women. I was raised by a single mother who raised four children on her own. Obtaining my education, being the first in my family to attend and graduate college, and soon to be the first to work towards a master’s degree, has been some of the few accomplishments that I am proud of. While my future is still unknown, I know that my education is something that will not be taken away from me. While I love the unknown and the possibility of endless opportunities, one thing I do know for sure is that I have a love for food, dancing and music (especially that of my Dominican culture), traveling, poetry, fitness and let’s not forget, having an unhealthy love for avocados!
What is the unmet social or environmental need you intend to address?
I want to provide mentorship and a way for financial independence to victims/survivors of gender-based violence.
What most excites you about participating in the Impact Entrepreneurship Fellowship?
The opportunity to make a difference where change needs to be made!
What most excites you about Impact Entrepreneurship in general?
Meeting new people, being challenged as a way of growth, and living in NYC!
Where do you think you need the most support regarding your venture concept?
Besides the mental strenght that would come with this work, also the financial means to make this into a reality.
