Zohra Roy is pursuing an MS in Environmental Policy & Sustainability at The Milano School. She is passionate about renewable energy and aspires to be at the forefronts of investments in sustainable infrastructure and renewable projects. She graduated from The George Washington University (GWU) in 2015, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with minors in sustainability and women’s studies. During her four years at GWU’s Office of Sustainability, she worked with fearless leaders to implement Capital Partners Solar, a breakthrough plan providing 50% of the university’s energy through “green power” procurements. Her previous work experiences span across a number of private and public groups, including Syneos Health, The U.S. Department of Treasury and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection.
What is the unmet social or environmental need you intend to address?
Increasing the renewable energy capacity in the United States, as well as developing nations where large swaths of communities still reside without access to electricity or clean water.
What most excites you about participating in the Impact Entrepreneurship Fellowship?
The opportunity to pursue my venture and joining a cohort of like-minded, socially driven people.
What most excites you about Impact Entrepreneurship in general?
The ability to create change, while ensuring socially responsible outcomes.

Beginning to understand the financials around starting a venture.
