CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: “Calling Our People Back Home: Reconnecting to the Tradition of Black Life in Nature”

Calling Our People Back Home: Reconnecting to the Tradition of Black Life in Nature is a fully-funded, Black artist-led, New York based retreat which explores the tradition of Black life in nature. The retreat will take place in Staatsburg, NY from Saturday, March 11- Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Our time in nature will consist of hikes, art making, personal archive exploration, cooking, among other activities.

The retreat will culminate in an art installation held thereafter, with the intention of adding nuance to the singular representation of Black individuals in media. Please fill out this form if you are interested in participating. If aligned with the project values, we will reach out to you to schedule an interview based on your stated availability.
