When did you know you wanted to take an entrepreneurial path?
I realized I wanted to take an entrepreneurial path while working for a start-up, experiencing the thrill of creating something from scratch and making a meaningful impact.
Tell us about your venture/work.
Emilie Consulting is a niche consulting agency specializing in fragrance and beauty product strategy and development, helping companies in bringing their vision to life.
How did you decide to tackle this particular issue?
Seeing the challenges faced by smaller beauty companies due to limited resources, I founded Emilie Consulting to provide expert guidance and support in fragrance and beauty product strategy and product development, empowering start-ups to achieve successful and sustainable product launches.\
What do you enjoy most about being an impact entrepreneur? What’s hardest about it?
I love partnering with founders and helping them materialize their vision. The hardest part for me is wearing all the hats that come with entrepreneurship. Sales, in particular, can be tough because I’m more used to working behind the scenes.
How do you navigate the space of being a founder and also being a POC/women/non-binary person?
One key aspect for me is being part of strong communities that uplift and support women’s ambitions like Dreamers & Doers.
What advice do you have for early-stage impact entrepreneurs about using their time, relationships, and opportunities at The New School to prepare for this kind of career?
Build your network, ask questions, offer help, gain real-world experience through internships and The New School opportunities and observe and learn as much as you can.
