Village Capital Seeks Early-Stage Entrepreneurs in IT/Clean-Tech for Business Accelerator Program!
What is Village Capital?
Village Capital believes in democratizing entrepreneurship by organizing unique 12-week startup accelerator programs in cities across the world. Village Capital is launching a program in Boston starting at the end of Nov 2012. As an entrepreneur, you’ll participate in a peer group of other promising enterprises, go through a program that will give you expert advising/mentoring, and be introduced to a network of top impact investors.
Why Village Capital?
At the end of the program, the entrepreneur cohort will assess one another–top-ranked enterprises will receive $50K in investment directly from Village Capital and a local investor. Â The best twist: the investment is selected by the entrepreneurs themselves!
What are we looking for?
We are especially interested in companies that fit the following general criteria:
- For-profit, commercially-scalable business model with no organized round of financing (ideally working towards an angel round)
- Can demonstrate customer validation and market potential
- Information technology OR energy / environmental solutions
- Focused on low-resource populations in the U.S. or emerging markets
