Leading ChangeMakers: A Workshop for Expanding NYC Arts Leadership

Our Venture Lab participant, Anthony Meyers is hosting a a workshop for expanding NYC Arts Leadership.

This is a great opportunity to engage with some of today’s leading arts and humanities experts to examine the realities of systemic oppression and bias in the workplace, all through the lens of personal and collective advancement.

Experts include:

Kendal Henry, Director, Percent for Art, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and Adjunct Professor, New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development

Sheila McDaniel, Deputy Director, Finance and Operations, Studio Museum in Harlem

Monica Montgomery Nyathi, Co-Founder, Museum Hue and Founding Director, Museum of Impact

Seph Rodney, Editor and Staff Writer, Hyperallergic, and Instructor, New School and School of Visual Arts

Nelson Santos, Arts and Nonprofit Consultant, formerly Executive Director of Visual AIDS

Kay Takeda, Vice President, Grants and Services, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council

Who Should Attend?
•Professionals with at least 5-7 years of experience working in the arts and cultural sector.
•Individuals that self-identify as being African, Latino(a), Asian, Arab and Native American (ALAANA), at all intersections of race, class, color, ethnicity, genders, sexual orientation.
•Individuals that want to see more diversity in NYC arts leadership.
•Individuals that are looking to connect with other POC professionals
and experts.
•Mid-level managers that have an interest in building leadership
development tools.
•Individuals that are interested in addressing systemic oppression in
the arts and cultural sector.
