Tell us about your venture/work!
My company, DotConnect, builds teams, companies and cultures. We are recruiters and conscious culture builders.
How long have you been working on your venture? Why did you decide to work on something impact related?
I learned how to effectively find and hire talent at a young age, then did consulting work before I started my company in 2019. Most companies underestimate how hard it is to find and hire talent.
How did you find out you wanted to take an entrepreneurial path? What was the first fundamental shift that happened to you as an early impact entrepreneur?
My company came to be from a portfolio of work that I built over several years. The first big shift was landing my first enterprise client and negotiating a deal, moving from a part time recruiter for a client to being their main service provider and bringing in a team of 9 to help deliver the work.
What do you enjoy most about being an impact entrepreneur? What are the main challenges?
I love solving problems alongside other founders and their teams.
What advice do you have for early-stage impact entrepreneurs about using their time and relationships to prepare for this kind of career? What would you tell to your younger self?
Stay curious and connected. Find people who inspire you, that you can learn from and be in community with. Keep an open mind and heart. I would tell my younger self, “trust yourself and know that everything you’ll ever need, you already have”.
