Access to Campus Spaces During Remote Learning Period & Other Reminders
Dear Students,
We are looking forward to the start of the spring semester this coming Monday. While the first two weeks of class will be online, campus is open and, as shared in our reminder update last week, we are strongly encouraging all students to be present in NYC starting January 24th.
Please read below for more details, including what spaces may be booked on campus during this remote learning period.
While classes are online, students may reserve spaces on campus for remote participation in classes. Following is a list of bookable spaces for remote learning:
- Library Collaboration Rooms
- Classroom Spaces
- University Center classrooms, 63 Fifth Avenue – Book here (Monday, 1/24 through Sunday, 2/6 only)Â
- 66 West 12th Street, 7th Floor, Suite 706 – drop-in student spaces available (no reservations required).Â
- Other Available Spaces and Resources: The Making Center, studios, rehearsal rooms, practice spaces, libraries, and the Equipment Center are open.
Please note:
- All spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.
- Bring your own laptop.
- One student per University Center classroom.
- University Center classroom bookings can be made in 4-hour maximum increments (they can also be booked for time slots that are less than 4 hours).
You can find more information about access to campus here.
Start Testing Now
Regardless of your first day on site, community members must test and receive a negative PCR test result within seven days before your first time on campus.
We strongly recommend testing weekly until you come back to campus. If you are traveling back to campus from outside of New York, please test before traveling to ensure you are negative when you arrive.
After you arrive, testing requirements for academic building access continue from the Fall semester. Vaccinated individuals must test no later than every 14 days and individuals with medical or religious exemptions no later than every 4 days.
PCR Tests Are Available On Campus and in New York
PCR tests are required for entry and ongoing testing. Community members can briefly enter a campus building to access an on-campus binx test, even if they haven’t submitted a recent result.
PCR tests are widely accessible in New York, with far lower wait times than in December. If you use an outside PCR test provider, please upload your result as soon as possible.
Reminder—Booster Requirement
All community members must receive a booster and upload their vaccination record by tomorrow, January 21. More information can be found here.
See You Soon
