Invitation: Student Information Session on University Financial Impact

A Message from Dr. Robert Mack, Vice Provost for Student Success and Engagement

Dear Students,

The Expanded University Budget Committee (UBC+) has been tasked by The Board of Trustees with reviewing and evaluating proposals to improve every aspect of The New School’s financial situation. It is crucial for students to be involved in this process, as it directly affects the resources and opportunities available to you at the university.

I hope you will join us for a Student Information Session on the University Financial Impact next week on Wednesday, March 29th from 12:00pm to 1:00 pm. The session, hosted by the University Student Senate, will provide you with important information about how the university allocates its resources, and how financial decisions are made. It will also give you the opportunity to ask questions to the panelists below:

  • Joshua Burgher, Chief Financial Officer, The New School
  • DesireeMonae Gibbs, Director of Finance, University Student Senate
  • Michael Endrias, Senator, Finance Committee, University Student Senate (Moderator)

I will also be in attendance and can share about the work the Student Remedies Task Force is doing this semester.

The information session will take place virtually on Zoom Webinar and will be recorded for those who are unable to attend. Please register to attend and submit any questions you may have for our panelists prior to the event. You will also have the opportunity to submit questions via the Zoom Q&A feature during the session.

We hope you will join us on March 29th, and we value your voices and participation in this process.
