Every year, GPIA honors students who have shown their commitment to GPIA and made unique contributions to the field of international affairs.
May 2021, we honored the following students:
— Michael Cohen Award: The Michael Cohen Award recognizes the student who overall exemplified a kind of spirit and accomplishment in the manner of Mike Cohen—a tireless commitment to GPIA in a multitude of support activities that benefited the entire community.
— International Affairs Faculty Award:
The International Affairs Faculty Award is conferred to the student that meets the standard of excellence as a student and makes significant service contributions to the Graduate Programs in International Affairs as well.
— International Affairs Student Speaker:
The honor of giving an address at the end of the year SGPIA recognition ceremony is determined by three criteria: a student’s expressed commitment to the values of justice, inclusivity, and sustainability; their academic performance; and, their compelling vision of international affairs that challenges conventional wisdom and epitomizes SGPIA.
Each academic year, SGPIA recognizes excellence in capstones. This year’s award recipients are:
— Outstanding Graduate Research Prize:
This award is given to the student whose research product displays notable levels of sophistication and rigor in their analysis that ultimately contributes to a greater knowledge of international affairs.
— Outstanding Practicum Prize: This award is given to the student team for the character of their collaboration with a client organization, the quality of the final deliverable, and the potential impact of the project.
