Practitioner in Residence, Richard Towle
Richard Towle is a New Zealand and UK lawyer who has spent over thirty years working for the United Nations on humanitarian, human rights and forced displacement issues. He has held senior positions in the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and High Commission for Human Rights (OHCHR) and served in many parts of the world, including Europe, Asia and the Pacific. Most recently he was UNHCR’s Regional Representative in Australia, Representative in Malaysia and Deputy Director of UNHCR’s Office in New York. He is currently a Visiting Scholar in the Graduate Programs in International Affairs and the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility.
