Prior to that, she was at Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in New York, working in logistics and sending American field workers on projects in all mission countries.

Ella is a creative producer and impact strategist. Her work has involved media production, campaigning, project management, team leadership, facilitation and research for a range of environment and education organisations. She was previously the Head of Creative for Greenpeace Australia Pacific, leading the creation of content and storytelling for campaigns. Ella now works in environmental philanthropy, as the Impact Lead for the Gum Tree Foundation.

Matthew is currently the Senior Communications Officer, Research & Innovation at the International Rescue Committee (IRC), working with media and storytelling to bring visibility to the IRC’s breakthrough innovations in the humanitarian sector. Prior to the IRC, Matthew has worked in various communications roles at Bloomberg Philanthropies, Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict, and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Sarah El-Shaarawi is a writer, editor, researcher, and educator whose current work focuses on climate change, energy, communication and the Arab region. Her writing has appeared in numerous publications including Foreign Policy, Nature, Newsweek Middle East, the National, the Tyee and the Cairo Review of Global Affairs, among others. She is also a frequent contributor to Africa is a Country. El-Shaarawi was the recipient of the 2022 Dalton Camp Award for her essay “The Similarities between Red and Yellow”.
