Rein is the Sourasky Professor of Latin American and Spanish History and director of the Abraham Center for International and Regional Studies at Tel Aviv University. He has authored or edited more than twenty books, among them Argentine Jews or Jewish Argentines? Essays on Ethnicity, Identity, and Diaspora, and a forthcoming volume on Arabs and Jews in the Americas.
