RA positions for 2019-2020 for Weekly Newsletter

RA POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR FALL AND SPRING 2019-2020

2 positions are available with Prof. Sumita Chakravarty for graduate students in Media Studies. Details are below.

Position # 1: RA (4.5 hrs/wk @ $ 20.81 an hr for 29 weeks)

Duties: overall maintenance of migration project websites: http://m2lab.net and http://migrationmapping.org; updating of the news archive on a weekly basis; updating of other datasets on a regular basis; creation, design, and mailing of monthly Newsletter related to media-and-migration project.

Skills sought: strong familiarity with WordPress; web design or content management experience; digital media production skills.

Position # 2: RA (4 hrs/wk @ $ 20.81 an hr for 29 weeks)

Duties: Data collection; annotation of research materials; performance of original research tasks; library searches; flexibility to attend to other book project-related deadlines as needed.

Skills sought: Strong research and writing skills; familiarity with WordPress; ability to sift through research methods; some media production skills preferred.

Qualifications for all the positions:

Applicants must have a GPA of 3.8 or higher, strong research, writing and technical skills, familiarity with online and social media platforms, strong work ethic, ability to work independently and conscientiously; respect for deadlines.

Applicants must be students at the New School through 2019-20 and preferably past their first semester in the program. Once hired, the student is expected to set aside a specific day or times of the week for the project.
