Brown Bag Lunch: At the Intersection of Software Studies and Historical Justice w/Fabiola Hanna

Join us at our next Brown Bag Lunch Series on August 12, 2020 at 1 pm via Zoom!

The topic is At The Intersection of Software Studies and Historical Injustice with Fabiola Hanna
She will be engaging students in a discussion on what software studies and historical justice have to do with each other? In this brown bag, Fabiola Hanna brings the seemingly two disparate fields in conversation by examining art practices, including her own to address the following question: How can media makers and artists working in the digital medium of software pay attention to and shape the parameters of engagement for historical justice?

Our Brown Bag Lunch Series is an opportunity for students to learn more about our faculty, their interests and skills.

Fabiola Hanna is a new media artist, software theorist, and Assistant Professor of Emerging Media at the School of Media Studies at The New School. She is a hybrid theory/practitioner whose work engages the theory of digital media with a focus on software that interfaces with archives of memories of the past.

This will be a beneficial conversation for students interested in media brand licensing, media executive leadership, and what tools media companies are using to navigate the current pandemic.

If interested in attending, please RSVP with your The New School email address to obtain access to the Zoom link.
