How We Got To Sesame Street

Based on the book with the same name, the new documentary Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street follows the history of the educational children’s show. Inspired by the 1960s civil rights movement, Sesame Street aimed to reach children in underserved communities through the power of television.

Join us on Thursday, April 22, at 6:00 PM ET and hear how the creative team produced this heartwarming documentary with behind-the-scenes archival footage and interviews with original writers, cast, and crew members, and how Sesame Street has impacted its young viewers for 50 years and counting.

Featuring:

  • Marilyn Agrelo, Director, Street Gang
  • Trevor Crafts, Producer, Street Gang
  • Ellen Scherer Crafts, Producer, Street Gang
  • Michael Davis, Author, Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street
