Sinha Memorial Fellowship in Media Studies

Available for Academic Year 2022-2023

Applications are invited for an endowed fellowship open to M.A. students in Media Studies for
the academic year 2022-23. The selected student will have demonstrated excellence in the
program so far, interest in digital media studies and aptitude in website design and
maintenance, particularly WordPress. Applicants’ research interests can be in any of the
following areas: technology and emerging cultures, media and cultural representations, media
environments, media infrastructures, data analysis, media theory, history, criticism, practices.

Eligibility: full-time MA student starting second year in the MA program, or has a minimum of 9
earned credits at the time of application.
GPA: 3.7 and above
Duration of fellowship: one academic year (Fall 2022 through Spring 2023)
Hours: Equivalent to a Research Assistantship: 8.5 hours per week for 30 weeks
Application Due Date: June 4, 2022 (you are strongly encouraged to apply early)

a) a resume and brief cover letter stating your interest in the fellowship and
b) a copy of your DegreeWorks page
c) a 500-word statement describing how your research interests will contribute to the
development and scope of the ongoing Media and Migration Project

d) name of a full-time Media Studies faculty member who can provide a recommendation letter
