OPPORTUNITY: Filmmakers and Scientists Collaborate at Imagine Science Film Festival

The Symbiosis Competition is part of Imagine Science Film Festival, an NYC-based event occurring October 20-27, where scientists and filmmakers are encouraged to immerse themselves in each other’s worlds to create something neither could do alone. It is a unique experience and an excellent opportunity for scientists to connect with professional filmmakers and storytellers.

During the competition, Filmmakers and scientists are paired for a one-week filmmaking sprint during the Imagine Science Film Festival in NYC. Each pair is given a $2500 production stipend, their films will be screened at public premieres, and the winning team gets a $1500 prize. Science Sandbox, an initiative of the Simons Foundation, supports this program.

The application deadline to take part in the Symbiosis Competition is August 15th. More info on how to apply is HERE, and you can watch Symbiosis films from prior years HERE.
