Event Celebrating Films by Karel Zeman: The Stolen Airship and Invention for Destruction

On August 31st, Czech Center New York is hosting an evening dedicated to the cinematic legacy of Karel Zeman, a visionary Czech filmmaker known for his pioneering techniques in animation and storytelling. 

Karel Zeman’s work has influenced countless filmmakers and offers valuable insights into the evolution of media. The event will feature screenings of his iconic films, “The Stolen Airship” and “Invention for Destruction”, both of which have been digitally restored. The screenings will be followed by insightful Q&A sessions with Ludmila Zemanová, the daughter of Karel Zeman, and his granddaughter Linda Zeman Spalený.
