OPPORTUNITY: Call for Papers About Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice in the Classroom
Consider submitting a proposal for a panel discussion with the Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA) in Boston on March 7-10th, 2024.
Educators have a unique opportunity to shape our students, promoting positive societal changes, beginning with the classroom. Now more than ever, we must create an environment where our diverse student body feels recognized, heard, respected, and included. This panel aims to explore how academia, and especially instructors of languages and cultures, can use the classroom as a platform to fight systemic racism while also fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
The deadline for submitting a paper about the specific approaches, strategies, and practices that have promoted these values in the classroom is September 30th, 2023.
