Media+Migration Lab: The Connection Between Media and Migration

Migration is a dynamic process. It moves and morphs, slips and slides, ebbs and flows.

The Media+Migration Lab (M2Lab), launched by Professor Sumita Chakravarty, is a website designed to engage thinkers, writers, media-makers and the broader community to open up fresh pathways of creativity and dialogue about migration. The lab harnesses the power of storytelling in all its forms to explore the crafting of the experimental life, the communicative life, and the connected life.

Through the Sinha Fellowship, the M2Lab site is updated each semester with student projects and a Sinha Fellow from the Media Studies program. These projects participate, directly or obliquely, in the larger cultural conversations about immigration, belonging, identity, culture, and citizenship.
