Professor Mark Walton Convened a Panel at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Mark Walton, Associate Professor of the Professional Practice in Media Management assembled and contributed to a panel discussion entitled, “How the Caribbean Contributes to the Global Film and TV Industry”.  

Joining Professor Walton was Nneka S. Luke, Consultant at Olsberg-SPI and former Film Commissioner for Trinidad & Tobago and acclaimed film director, Michael Moorleedhar at Caribbean Film International.    

The panel explored the triumphs and challenges faced by Caribbean industry professionals in promoting their talent, culture and history through film and television.  

This is the third year that Professor Walton has presented at the Cannes Film Festival’s Pavilion Afriques and he has now been designated as an Ambassador for the initiative.
