
Special Graduate Session: Exploring Korean Film and Drama with Dr. Minsoo Kang
Assistant Professor of Writing Across Media, Margaret Rhee is hosting a special seminar for her class Gender, Genre, and Language in Korean Film and Drama featuring esteemed historian and fiction writer Dr. Minsoo Kang.
Dr. Kang is the author of Sublime Dreams of Living Machines: The Automaton in the European Imagination (Harvard University Press) and his new fantasy novel The Melancholy of Untold History (Harper Collins), among other notable titles.
This session promises to be a captivating exploration of the intersections between technology, translation, and Asian diasporic writing, making it particularly relevant for MA students in these fields. Dr. Kang’s unique perspective will provide valuable insights into the cultural narratives shaped by film and literature.
The seminar will open with a reading by Christine Ro, an MFA Candidate in Creative Writing.
The session will be held in person on Thursday, October 10th, 2024 from 4 pm to 5 pm at 6 E, 16th Street, Room 538.
