B.A. Williams’ If I’m Being Honest to Debut at Doc NYC
M.A, Media Studies student and alum of Graduate Certificate in Documentary Studies, 2024, B.A.Williams‘ short film, ‘If I’m Being Honest‘, will have its World Premiere at Doc NYC, one of the largest documentary film festivals in the U.S.
This short film was completed as a capstone project for the Graduate Certificate in Documentary Studies’24. If I’m Being Honest takes viewers on a journey through filmmaker B.A.Williams’ explores their origin story and uncovers painful truths about their estranged mother. Through a combination of a heartfelt letter to Williams’ son, a recorded conversation with their mother, and glimpses into domestic life, the film weaves together past, present, and future in a vulnerable, intimate narrative.
