Ruff Cuts Wraps the Semester with a Full House and Milestone Moments
The final Ruff Cuts event of the semester drew over 100 attendees, including festival programmers, industry professionals, and alumni—marking the fourth consecutive packed screening. Hosted by students from the School of Media Studies, Ruff Cuts has become a cornerstone event for showcasing works-in-progress and fostering collaboration.

This edition also introduced a new post-show mixer with the College of Performing Arts, where filmmakers and composers connected over a catered spread from Breads Bakery.
Throughout the semester, Ruff Cuts achieved several milestones:
- Gained official Recognized Student Organization (RSO) status, along with dedicated funding and a signature popcorn machine
- Partnered with Lighthouse International Film Festival to spotlight Fine Cuts winners
- Expanded collaboration with CoPA to better connect composers and filmmakers
With its growing impact and community support, Ruff Cuts continues to serve as a creative launchpad for emerging media talent.
Mark your calendars and register for the 46th Fine Cuts coming next month.
