Upcoming Projects from Neyda Martinez, Media Management Associate Professor
Media Management Associate Professor, Neyda Martinez co-produces Michele Rosewoman’s 35th Anniversary New Yor-Uba recording entitled, Hallowed. The new work features a Chamber Music America commissioned piece and centers the work of master Afro Cuban drummer and folklorist Roman Diaz. The CD release is accompanied by live performances at the ZINC Bar in New York City on November 2nd and November 8th and in Philadelphia’s Clef Club of Jazz on December 21st. The suite of new music is available on BandCamp. The anticipated recording was featured the New York Times’ annual arts and culture fall feature in September and appears on the cover of Hot House Jazz’s latest edition. Noted music critic, Nate Chinen wrote about Michele Rosewoman for WGBO. Rosewoman has a long and rich history with The New School having served as a guest lecturer at Mannes over the years.
DECADE OF FIRE, a documentary also produced by Associate Professor Martinez, will be available to audiences across the United States, Alaska and Puerto Rico with the national online and TV premiere on PBS’ acclaimed documentary series, Independent Lens on November 4th.
