‘Greetings from Somewhere’ Podcast by SMS Faculty + Alum Zack Mack, Media Studies ’16, Featured in Vulture
SMS Faculty + alum Zach Mack, Media Studies ’16, is a longtime podcast producer behind award-winning shows like The Ringer’s ‘Binge Mode’ and ‘The Rewatchables’ and Vox’s ‘Land of the Giants’, as well as consults about the industry. ‘Greetings from Somewhere’ is his latest project. It was recently featured in Vulture (New York Magazine).
Greetings from Somewhere is an immersive documentary-style podcast that explores road trip destinations throughout the US. Each episode takes a trip to weird artist hubs like Marfa Texas, festivals like Burning Man, national parks like Joshua Tree, or even theme parks like Disney World. Think Anthony Bourdain’s ‘Parts Unknown’ meets ‘RadioLab.’ ‘Greetings from Somewhere’ is a travel show about what’s happening underneath the surface of all these places we pass through on road trips but don’t have the time to truly explore.
