
New York on Film: Statues, Italianamerican, and 80 Blocks
You probably know him for hits like Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, or The Wolf of Wall Street, but, in 1974, Martin Scorsese turned the camera toward his parents, Catherine and Charles, in their New York apartment.
On November 9, join Museum of the City of NY for a screening of the documentary Italianamerican as well as two other documentary films from the era—Statues Hardly Ever Smile and 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s. Come for some 1970s NYC history. Stay for Catherine Scorsese’s meatball recipe. Alfreda’s Cinema founder Melissa Lyde will introduce the films.
