A Manual and Training on Avoiding Political Disinformation for Ghana’s Youth

Robert Berkman, part-time faculty at the School of Media Studies, has received funding from the NGO Savana Signatures in Ghana to create a practical manual for young citizens on identifying and avoiding political disinformation, supported by an award from the US Embassy in Ghana. As Ghana prepares for its December 2024 Presidential elections, there is concern about false and inflammatory online content potentially affecting the democratic process. To address this, Berkman will train eight master trainers on the manual, who will then educate 200 leading youth influencers to create a cascade effect, reaching youth across Ghana.
