The New School’s Academic Year in Books 2020–2021: Faculty

Faculty authors confronted a number of pressing social and cultural issues in more than 30 books published this academic year — from a history of alternative political media and its effects on American politics to powerful personal stories of design educators of color addressing the complexities of race in design and a chronicle of a struggle over land between one of the poorest communities in the United States and the federal government and mining conglomerates. Works published range from critically acclaimed novels to enchanting poetry collections, compelling philosophical essays, and insightful nonfiction. New School alumni authors were prolific as well.
