Body Control: Jewellery and Fashion at the Boundaries of the Human Body
Fashion Design BFA senior student Ashley Jung has had her jewelry work presented in an exhibition entitled Body Control: Jewellery and Fashion at the Boundaries of the Human Body at Museum Arnhem in The Netherlands.
This exhibition explored to what extent can we, as humans, engineer our bodies, how fashion and jewellery designers have been shaping and exploring the body. The works included question what does the body mean, how do you experience it and how does it relate to the space around it? Ashely’s piece sat alongside work from Iris van Herpen’s anatomical couture to Katja Prins’ hybrid jewellery, the “body-filling” jewellery made by Lauren Kalman to Anouk Wipprecht’s technological creations.
