Virtual Summer Course for High School students: Intro to Design and Management

Discover the design of business, and the business of design! In this 3-week, virtual, intensive program you will learn to approach management as a strategic process that combines design innovation and business knowledge. Through live sessions, self-paced multimedia materials, hands-on collaborative projects, and guest speakers from the fashion, luxury, and creative industries, you will:
- Develop problem-solving skills and familiarity with design strategies through the application of research methods, prototyping, and quantitative analysis
- Gain understanding around the European and North American business perspective and the way entrepreneurs, creative innovators, and designers operate at the intersection of design and management
- Engage in design thinking and business strategy exercises, applying these approaches in a broad range of enterprises and real-world business contexts
- Work both individually and collaboratively on hands-on creative projects that will enrich your portfolio
This program is open to high school students entering their junior or senior year, and recent high school graduates. Many enroll to develop a portfolio for the college admissions process. No prerequisites required.
