MFA Core Studio 1: Final Exhibition
In Core Studio 1 taught by Tuomas Laitinen and Miki Omori, Year 1 students in the MFA Fashion Design and the Arts program spent their fall semester studying historical garments, their designers, heritage and know-how, and producing contemporary recreations of selected pieces.
Following their discovery of archival pieces at the Musée Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris and work with Maison Lesage on their embroidered samples, MFA Year 1 students produced a full line up of 10 looks or a product range of 15 objects, developed 3D prototypes of 3 looks or objects, and 1 look or 2 objects in final materials. The final works were presented for a professional jury in an exhibition at the Parsons Paris Campus at Fondation Fiminco.
Many thanks to Miren Arzalluz, Alexandre Samson, and Laure du Pavillon for making this project possible!
