MFA Core Studio 1: Final Exhibition
In Core Studio 1 taught by Tuomas Laitinen and Miki Omori, Year 1 students in the MFA Fashion Design and the Arts program spent their fall semester studying historical garments, their designers, heritage and know-how, and producing contemporary recreations of selected pieces. Â
Following their discovery of archival pieces at the Musée Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris and work with Maison Lesage on their embroidered samples, MFA Year 1 students produced a full line up of 10 looks or a product range of 15 objects, developed 3D prototypes of 3 looks or objects, and 1 look or 2 objects in final materials. The final works were presented for a professional jury in an exhibition at the Parsons Paris Campus at Fondation Fiminco.
Many thanks to Miren Arzalluz, Alexandre Samson, and Laure du Pavillon for making this project possible!
