Internship Testimonial – Andrea Riano

This summer Strategic Design & Management student, Andea Riano, had the opportunity to intern with Givenchy for 6 months. Find out how she landed this amazing opportunity!

I found the internship, because the Student Life office had sent us an email with interesting opportunities, such as Givenchy internships.

I applied, but did not hear back, while other students did get interviews. I was in close contact with my career advisor Virginie, and through her persistence, they happened to call me a few weeks later. From that point on it was quite straight forward.  I had two interviews, both completely in French, which I also prepared for with Virginie.

The team seemed super welcoming and we immediately got along well. The internship in itself has taught me a lot about working in corporate structures, previously I have worked in more fluid environments. I really appreciated this structure and it helped me become very organised, routine focused and my French has become a lot better?

My advice when picking an internship is to be curious and try to do as much as you can within the frameworks. Talk to your colleagues, go to work events, ask questions – it will all come back handy later.
