On the Bias Open Call

We invite the Parsons Paris community to participate in a project organized by students from Parsons Paris Fashion Studies and the Royal College of Art History of Design (London).

Observing the relationship between textiles and text, “On the Bias” examines how we can integrate personal stories related to fashion and design into an academic setting and make them accessible to the public.

This collaboration will result in a publication featuring works from students and faculty from both institutions.

The submissions can be one or a combination of the following: 

  • Maximum 500-word text (any format: essay, poem, story, captions, descriptions, lists, scripts, etc.) 
  • Photography 
  • Maps 
  • Design experiments (as an ongoing project or final result) 
  • Surveys 
  • Interviews 
  • Illustrations
