Role: Event Coordinator + PR Intern, Mira Art Fair
Summer Swanson worked as an Event Coordinator and PR Intern at the Mira Art Fair, where she supported the curator and helped manage the fair’s logistics. Through this hands-on role, she gained valuable skills in event coordination, communication, and cultural programming.
“I found the job through JobTeaser. I was picked on the spot and not required to do an interview. Someone reached back out to me via email after submitting my application and explained the details of the role and event.
I supported the curator by organizing the art pieces for the fair, I helped with visitor welcoming and registration, as well as keeping event activities on task and on time.
From this experience I gained skills in event logistic coordination, interpersonal skills and communication, as well as art fair curation and light program management.
My advice to future Parsons Paris interns is to really take this time while in school to do as many internships as possible. It allows you to discover what roles you like and ones that you don’t like so much. This internship led me to discover I loved planning and organizing cultural or artistic events, so my summer internship I landed a role as a cultural programmer/cultural programs management intern, and I feel more confident and excited that I have found the role that I can see myself working in post-grad!”
