Alumni Spotlight – Clarabeth Concaret
We invited Parsons Paris alumni, Clarabeth Concaret (MA Fashion Studies – 2019) to share her recent success with her company, Fabricure.
“Last year I co-founded a company called Fabricure, with a mission to tackle the growing fabric waste crisis, and in November I learned that I was chosen by UNICEF and Cambridge as one of the “Young Climate Innovators Shaping the Future”, in their inaugural “Innovation30” program.
In December, UNICEF invited me to present Fabricure at COP28, so I got to go to Dubai, share our work on a global stage, and engage in discussions around fabric waste. The Innovation30 program is a year-long cohort, so I have quite a few more events on the calendar this year.
“…all of this is thanks to Parsons Paris and the incredible education that I received there!”
It’s been very exciting, and I wanted to share because all of this is thanks to Parsons Paris and the incredible education that I received there! Our professors always engaged us to think critically about how we might challenge and change unsustainable fashion systems, and they were the ones who opened my eyes to the alarming pollution that fashion generates.”
