Visiting our Project Space

Starting in February 2019, we began operating a new Project Space on the ground floor, open to all students from all majors to work on projects outside of class time. The two rooms can be used for prototyping, experimentation and documentation. The space was designed and is managed by the Parsons Paris Tech team.

Several hand tools and power tools are available to sign out from the tech lab, such as drills, saws, heating tools and glue guns. Also located in the project space are built in facilities such as heavy duty woodworking drill press, electrical saws and a spray booth for students to use spray glue and spray paint. The window display area allows students to showcase projects to people on the street. The space can also be used to present student work during crits or serve as an exhibition space. Finally there is an array of exhibition equipment that includes tv screens, mac minis, ipads, headphones and also plinths and stools that students can use to set up their projects for display and invite guests for talks and meetings.

The Project Space is intended to be open access as much as possible for students. As such only Program Directors can book the space for specific periods of time. Each program has a set number of hours per semester that they can book the space. Apart from this the project space is open to all students during opening hours.

All facilities and tools within the Project Space can be conveniently stored away into large lockers along the wall to allow the space to be emptied for exhibitions, performances talks and crits. This allows for a versatile and multipurpose space that students are encouraged to use as much as possible.
