TCDS Alumna Mariana Prandini Assis published in the Guardian on new Austerity meausures in Brazil
We would like to share a recent piece ‘Brazil is in crisis. And once again, the poorest will bear the burden’, published in The Guardian, by TCDS alumna, and NSSR PhD Candidate, Mariana Prandini Assis which describes new austerity measures in Brazil being pushed through by the country’s un-elected president Michel Temer. Assis notes the effects these austerity measures will have on the poor as well as their un-democratic nature. It is a “coup against the poor,” Assis writes, “and, indeed, against democracy itself.” To see the full article, click here.
